Although known primarily for our track record as Court Litigators, our Litigation Team also has significant experience in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) and Mediation. In today's economic climate it is important for businesses to resolve disputes in ways that are both cost-effective and commercially oriented. Sometimes traditional litigation may not be the most appropriate method of resolving commercial differences.
As a firm, we are committed to exploring the possibility of ADR/Mediation where we believe that option is in the best interest of our client. By considering ADR, we can give our client the best possible opportunity to reach a commercial solution.
Our Litigation Team has been involved in Mediations across a wide range of sectors. Recent experience includes:
- Achieving a settlement at Mediation for a major landlord client in respect of a multi-million pound dispute involving the termination of the Agreement for Lease in relation to a shopping centre development
- Achieving a settlement at Mediation for an IT supplier in respect of the long term supply contract with a local authority
- Achieving a settlement shortly after Mediation for the former shareholders of a business who were faced with a substantial breach of warranty claim
