Employment Law

About Andrew

I am experienced in representing both employers and employees in contentious and non-contentious matters. From the employer side of things I advise a number of SMEs and charities on various employment law matters such as staff management, disciplinary procedures, redundancy procedures, workplace policies and contracts. I have also successfully represented employers in the employment tribunal in complex unfair dismissal and discrimination cases.

I also represent employees with issues arising from their employment such as discrimination in the workplace, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, grievances, employment status and settlement agreements.

I have also advised a number of clients in the sports industry ranging from the Scottish Cricketers’ Association, an athletics agency and advising on high value rugby and football contracts.

I take pride in presenting complex legal advice in as clear and concise a way as possible and has been described as having a sense of humour that makes clients feel at ease. My career highlights so far include:

  • being awarded a Highly Commended in the Rising Star category at the 2017 Scottish Legal Awards
  • winning a pregnancy discrimination employment tribunal case
  • successfully defending a claim on disability discrimination
  • successfully defending a claim on employment status
  • presenting to over 120 delegates on the pitfalls of social media
  • representing the Scottish Cricketers’ Association and
  • advising on a contract dispute with an English Premier League football club.

I very much appreciated your excellent service, and will call on you in the future should I have a similar employment problem.

The whole process was made less daunting with you as my agent, you have put my case forward very well and I could not have asked for any more or anything else from yourself or the firm
