I joined Balfour+Manson in 2014 and trained with the firm. I am currently a solicitor in the litigation department. I work for David McIntosh, handling a variety of personal injury, clinical negligence and commercial cases, both in the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.
I spent my first six months with Balfour+Manson working on non-contentious commercial matters, where I assisted with a number of commercial property transactions and other large projects.
I spent the remaining 18 months of my traineeship in the firm’s litigation department. I spent six months in Fred Tyler’s team, working on a number of high value Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases. I then moved into David Flint's Sheriff Court team, where I managed a varied civil litigation and commercial dispute resolution caseload. I appeared several times each week at Edinburgh Sheriff Court as local and principal agent, on behalf of both pursuer and defender clients, in various civil matters.
Finally, in November 2015, I moved into David McIntosh’s litigation team where I completed my traineeship, and where I remained after qualifying as a solicitor.
My experience is primarily litigation based, though I have also benefited from experience of non-contentious commercial transactions. I regularly represent individuals in claims for personal injuries resulting from road traffic accidents and workplace accidents, and also in cases of clinical negligence.
