I qualified as a solicitor in 2018, after joining Balfour+Manson as a trainee in 2016. I completed my undergraduate law degree and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
Prior to working at Balfour+Manson, I worked as a legal assistant at the Scottish Law Commission. I worked within the contract law and electoral law teams. I assisted the teams to develop innovative reforms to Scots law, most notably being involved in the passage of the Legal Writings (Counterparts and Delivery) (Scotland) Act 2015 through the Scottish Parliament.
I am a solicitor in the firm’s public law team. I have assisted in many of the team’s recent high profile cases, including Cherry/Miller 2 (successful challenge to the prorogation of the UK Parliament) and Wightman (successful reference to the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the revocability of the Article 50 TEU (withdrawal from the European Union) notification).
Outside of work, I tutor at the University of Edinburgh for the undergraduate Contract & Unjustified Enrichment course. I also enjoy yoga and long distance running (10K, half marathon, and full marathon).
I am a solicitor in the firm’s highly regarded litigation team. I manage my own caseload as well as assisting colleagues in a range of public law matters in various forums, including sheriff courts, Court of Session, UK Supreme Court, and Court of Justice of the European Union.
