I pride myself on my empathy and belief in my clients which comes from my earlier career fighting cases in criminal defence work and civil litigation. A lawyer should be an advocate for those needing help, whether it be an individual facing discrimination or a company fighting a vexatious claim. Your lawyer should also be approachable and I hope to take a friendly and practical approach

Away from work, you will usually find me playing or watching sport or continue to harbour dreams of seeing Scotland in the World Cup final. I enjoy a challenge and along with my Employment team we conquered all 20,000 feet of Mount Kilimanjaro this summer for Maggie's.

I have specialised in Employment Law since 2006 and have been head of the department since 2009.

I am a Solicitor Advocate which means that I can represent you from the first meeting to the very last appeal. 

I regularly litigate personally for both individuals and companies in cases involving: 

Unfair dismissal; Redundancy; Whistle blowing; Discrimination

HR Advice & Support

I'm always available to provide strategic advice for your company or charity on the myriad of issues that can crop up in the complex world of HR. Recent issues I have dealt with include:

  • Tupe: advising on the employment issue in a cross jurisdiction commercial purchase
  • Redundancy: advise on the restructure of a major business in the west of Scotland
  • Restrictive Covenants - major departures of CEOs to rival competitors

I also regularly deal with high level executive disputes, compromise agreements and restrictive covenants for specialist advice give me a call. 

Sports Law

I act for a number of high profile individuals in the world of sport, from advising on new contracts to negotiating complicated compensation policies.
