Shelley Moore
Paralegal
I started my career as an Office Junior in the Commercial department of an established Edinburgh city centre law firm in 1999, working my way up to Legal Secretary for the Head of the Commercial Department. In 2004 I studied with Central Law Training Scotland and the University of Strathclyde to gain my Paralegal qualification in Commercial Conveyancing. Â
During the recession in 2008 I worked in the Private Client department of an Edinburgh law firm and then at a Chartered Surveyors in their busy residential department, before working at another established Edinburgh city centre law firm in their Real Estate department for 7 years.
In November 2017 I joined Balfour+Manson to work as the Paralegal in their Commercial team and am currently studying for my law degree at University of Edinburgh.
I have great experience in commercial property work ranging from dealing with lease management documentation, lease reviews, insolvency sales, purchases and leases of small areas of land for utility providers, assisting in large portfolio sales and purchases, and selling new build residential properties.Â
I also specialise in dealing with servitudes – having acted for both utility providers and property owners. As well as managing my own transactions, I also assist Stephanie Nichol with her transactions, where required.
I love the variety of work as no two days are the same. I don’t always know what I’m going to come into on any given day. I also enjoy dealing with the clients and trying to complete matters as quickly and efficiently as possible for them.
When I’m not at work you will find me… at Old College studying!
