Great Balfour+Manson Bake Off to raise money for Dyslexia Scotland and Playlist for Life

Balfour+Manson is proud to announce that ‘The Balfour+Manson Strollers’, a team of 11 hardy employees from across the firm, will be taking part in the Scottish Half Marathon & Duo Challenge on Saturday 6th September, to raise vital funds for Dyslexia Scotland and Playlist for Life, the firm’s chosen charities for the year.
The Scottish Half Marathon road race starts at Meadowmill Sports Centre, taking in the beautiful GolfCoast before finishing at Musselburgh Racecourse, while the Duo Challenge takes the Scottish Half Marathon and splits it in two, enabling some in the team to race with colleagues.

As part of the fundraising for each event, Balfour+Manson held a Bake Off in honour of Partner Andrew Gibb, who this week celebrates 45 years with the firm which he joined as a trainee in 1969.
Elaine Motion, Chairman of Balfour+Manson commented: “It’s great to see everyone in the firm getting involved in these challenges to help raise awareness of these two brilliant charities. Events like this are an excellent way of bring the whole firm together for great causes and we wholeheartedly support the team running on Saturday.”
Cathy Magee, Chief Executive of Dyslexia Scotland said: “We are absolutely delighted that the Balfour+Manson Strollers have chosen Dyslexia Scotland as one of the charities to benefit from this fundraising effort.  As well as raising funds for our work, events like this also help to raise the profile of Dyslexia Scotland and awareness of dyslexia which affects 1 in 10 people in Scotland.  We wish the team lots of luck!”
Sally Magnusson, chair of Playlist for Life, said: “Balfour+Manson have been a wonderful support to Playlist for Life since our inception. We are thrilled that they continuing to support us by fundraising for us in this way. Everything raised will go towards encouraging access for people with dementia to personally meaningful music on a digital device such as an iPod, as a gateway to a better life.”
