I joined Balfour+Manson as a trainee solicitor in August 2015 after completing the Accelerated LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this I obtained an M.A. (Honours) in Economic and Social History from the University of Glasgow. Between 2008 and 2012 I worked as a History teacher in a large international school in the United Arab Emirates, being appointed head of History in 2010 and head of the Humanities department in 2011.
I trained in Balfour+Manson’s Private Client and Litigation departments and have been with the Family Law team since August 2016.
I am a solicitor in the firm’s Family Law team and undertake a variety of family law actions including divorce, financial provision, cohabitation claims and child related matters.
Additionally, I undertake regulatory work specifically acting on behalf of members of the EIS Union in referrals to the General Teaching Council for Scotland. This involves representing clients facing a broad range of disciplinary matters and criminal prosecutions.
I have experience of appearing on behalf of Pursuer and Defender clients at Sheriff and Sheriff Appeal Court level and have also acted in high-value financial provision, cohabitation and child related proceedings in the Court of Session.
I am a registered Notary Public.
