I am a solicitor working in the firm’s Family Law department in the Aberdeen office. I studied the Undergraduate Law Degree and the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen and began my traineeship in August 2014. I joined Balfour+Manson in August 2016 as a member of the Family Team.
During my traineeship, I worked primarily in the Litigation and Employment Law Departments. Since qualification, I have worked solely in the Family Law team. I primarily deal with Child Contact, Interdict, Cohabitation and Divorce actions. I also deal with Guardianship applications in Aberdeen. I therefore regularly appear in the Sheriff Court in a variety of different cases. Within our Family Law team, we are keen to try to ensure clients are provided with the best possible service for their particular needs. We hope to dispel the myth that family law matters will always end up in court, offering alternative ways of resolving disputes such as mediation, collaboration and arbitration.
I am based in the Aberdeen office and work directly with Kirsten Knight and Lynne Mulcahy. We maintain strong links to the Family Team in Edinburgh and work alongside our colleagues on a regular basis. Working within this team means that I am involved in a variety of family related matters, including child contact and residence, financial provision on divorce, cohabitation and adoption.
