Ben Pearse

I joined Balfour+Manson in 2014 and for a large part of that time my role was face to face with clients and the public to discuss property transaction, market trends, carry out valuations and assist with the process of marketing properties.

Since the firms shift away from performing in-house estate agency my role has evolved to assist clients with selling their properties with an external Estate Agent and helping them manage the process, acting as the go-between for the client, agent and solicitor.

I also manage and advise clients with regards to the purchase of property and my background in valuation, along with the analytical skills involved with this, help me guide clients to their dream home at the right price.

Prior to working at Balfour+Manson I undertook a degree in Business Studies at the University of Manchester and following this I had roles in London working in sales, marketing and advertising. In 2006 I moved to Edinburgh to set up and run my own property development company and have been on both ends of property transaction many a time.

Having worked in the property sector for over 17 years, my detailed knowledge of the market allows me to advise clients on all aspects of a property transaction and give solid guidance on values and market trends. I really enjoy interacting with and helping clients get the properties they want or helping someone going through a difficult time and making the process as easy as possible. 

The relationships I have built over that time also allow me to liaise with other firms to help make a big life decision a bit little less stressful for our clients.

When I am not at work you will find me spending time with my young family, but when free time presents itself I play cricket and golf and am always looking for an excuse to put on my skis.  As an ex-rugby player I can also be found heading to Murrayfield to soak up the atmosphere.
