About Findlay

I grew up in North Berwick before moving to Glasgow to complete my LLB at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2017. I then moved to Budapest to undertake an LLM in Human Rights Law. In 2018, I returned to Edinburgh where I worked for two years as a paralegal at a Medical Defence Organisation. I then completed my Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow, before joining Balfour+Manson as a trainee solicitor in January 2021.

Throughout both university and employment, I have gained invaluable practical knowledge in several different areas of law. I look forward to building upon this experience during the course of my traineeship at Balfour+Manson.

In the first seat of my Traineeship, I was based in the Employment Team headed by Robert Holland. As part of this seat, I assisted Robert and the team with various matters on behalf of employers and employees, including settlement agreements, unfair dismissal and discrimination claims.

In my second seat, I worked in the Private Client department, where I assisted Karen Phillips and others with executries, trusts, wills and powers of attorney. I also assisted our Property department, where I worked with Ken Robertson and others on a wide range of conveyancing matters.

I am now working in our Litigation team, focusing on public and administrative law. As part of this seat, I will assist Elaine Motion and Sindi Mules with range of public law matters in various forums.
