Robyn Coates

I qualified into the Medical Negligence team at Balfour+Manson in January 2026. Having also completed my traineeship at B+M, I gained experience in Private Client, Commercial Property, before moving into the Litigation department, focusing on Medical Negligence and Personal Injury claims. I am passionate about providing assistance to clients in these areas, helping to guide and support them through the process.

I have experience of the All-Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court, and the Court of Session (Outer House), spanning a wide variety of claims in the Medical Negligence sphere such as catastrophic birth injuries, delayed diagnosis, GP negligence, and treatment provided by health care professionals without the proper informed consent of the patient. I also have experience in a range of Personal Injury claims such as slips and trips, accidents at work, and road traffic accidents.

The thing I enjoy the most about my job is engaging and building relationships with clients. I have an understanding and compassionate approach as I appreciate that our clients have gone through some extremely difficult experiences. I enjoy working hard to get the best possible outcome for them.

When I am not at work you will find me most likely doing something active – bagging another Munro if I’m lucky!
