I am fortunate to have spent my entire legal career at Balfour+Manson. I spent the final year of my traineeship in the Litigation Department, working closely with Ann Logan and gaining experience in Medical Negligence and Personal Injury before qualifying as a Solicitor in August 2016.
I understand that many of my clients have experienced life-changing injuries and I provide an empathetic and personable service. I take pride in providing straightforward advice to clients in cases which are often complex. The interests of my clients are my priority.
Legal 500 2021
I specialise in Medical Negligence and Personal Injury work. I am instructed in a wide variety of cases in the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court. I am accredited by the Association for Personal Injury Lawyers.
I have obtained compensation for many clients injured or bereaved as a result of negligence. Cases recently successfully settled involved acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries, pharmaceutical negligence, surgical negligence, accidents at work and road traffic accidents.
I am experienced in cases involving failures to properly obtain patient consent before surgery and other procedures. Balfour+Manson secured the ground-breaking decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board which revolutionised the law in relation to consent.
I regularly apply the Voluntary Pre-Action Protocol for cases involving clinical negligence and the Compulsory Protocol for personal injury cases. I also have experience in Fatal Accident Inquiries in the Sheriff Court and in obtaining Criminal Injuries Compensation for those injured as a result of criminal acts.
I am pleased to accept instructions and referrals from agents throughout Scotland.
