Trainee Solicitor

I grew up in Zimbabwe, and moved to Scotland in 2014 to pursue an LLB in Law and History at the University of Glasgow. I completed an Advanced LLM in European and International Human Rights Law at Universiteit Leiden in 2021, and was awarded a distinction for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow in 2022.

During my studies in Glasgow, I worked as an intern at Legal Services Agency, Shelter Scotland, and JustRight Scotland, gaining experience in immigration, housing, and human rights law. Additionally, after completing the LLB, I worked as a Legal Analyst at Ashurst LLP. In this role, I assisted the banking team with large scale projects, including the delivery of the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.

I commenced my traineeship with Balfour+Manson in June 2022. I have spent time in the Public Law, Judicial Review and Human Rights team alongside Elaine Motion and Sindi Mules, and I am currently in the Medical Negligence and Personal Injury team, working alongside Ann Logan, Michaela Guthrie, Carolyn Jackson, Alannah Jones, Bryony Walker, and Susan Rae.

I have enjoyed developing skills and experience in diverse areas of law and working alongside experts during my traineeship at B+M.

When I’m not at work I can usually be found sailing, hillwalking, or curled up with a good book and a cup of tea.

My experience was fantastic from start to finish. My son was wrongly removed from a college course affecting his future and leaving him severely distressed. Although there were complicated factors the solicitors led us through our options and kept us informed throughout eventually getting my son back on his course. Can’t thank them enough.
