Marcia Johnstone

I graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2007, following which I spent 17 years working for a large Aberdeen firm where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of Private Client.  I was delighted to join the Balfour+Manson team in October 2024 as a Senior Associate in their Private Client Department.  

I have extensive experience advising clients in the administration of executry estates, including Inheritance Tax issues, the preparation of Wills, including succession planning, the granting of Powers of Attorney and Attorney administration.  I also work closely with our conveyancing team and assist them with residential conveyancing.   

My work is always varied, interesting and rewarding.  My approachable and compassionate nature allows me to efficiently support and advise clients through a period of their lives which can often be difficult, upsetting and stressful.  I strive to build a close relationship of trust, putting clients at ease and ensuring their individual needs and circumstances are understood and met, whilst providing the best level of advice and service. 

The best thing about my job is getting to know a client and their family.  Knowing that I have been able to ease their burden and make a small positive difference to their lives in some way by helping guide them during an often emotional and difficult time is incredibly rewarding.

When I am not at work you will most likely find me exploring the great outdoors with my husband and children or, if grandparents babysitting is available, at the theatre or a concert.
