Litigation (Personal)
Born in Aberdeen, I have strong ties to the granite city. I returned to study here in 1996 and apart from a short time away to complete my traineeship in Elgin, I have remained here ever since!
After qualifying I practiced in general civil court practice but soon realised my real passion was helping clients who had been injured or suffered loss. I joined Balfour+Manson in 2007 and since then have practiced exclusively in personal injury and medical negligence.
I am very much a people person and do my best to put clients at ease through difficult and traumatic times in their lives. I have a real passion for what I do and I am very proud of the results I have achieved for clients.
Contact with Julie was easy and she always returned calls quickly. The service provided was exceptional. I would recommend Balfour+Manson to anyone.
Client
I am involved in many complex and high value cases. Having worked in Aberdeen as a solicitor since qualifying I have a real understanding of the industries local to Aberdeen, particularly oil and agriculture. Many of the personal injury claims I am instructed in arise out of accidents offshore. I also have experience in dealing with international claims.
I maintain close ties with both universities in Aberdeen. I tutor Civil Litigation and Advanced Civil Litigation on the Diploma of Legal Practice at RGU and helped co-write the Advanced Litigation Module. I am also a Mentor for Aberdeen University’s Career Mentoring Programme (Law Stream).
