Balfour+Manson selects My Name’5 Doddie Foundation as 2020 Charity Partner

Balfour+Manson is pleased to announce that the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has been selected as its 2020 charity partner.

The Foundation was launched in 2017 after Doddie Weir, one of Scottish Rugby’s most recognisable and larger-than-life personalities, revealed he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
My Name’5 Doddie Foundation aims to raise funds to aid research into the causes of MND and investigate potential cures. It also makes grants to individuals suffering from the disease, to help them live as fulfilling a life as possible.

Balfour+Manson Chairman Elaine Motion said: “Each year we ask staff to vote for our charity partner and I’m delighted that we have chosen to support the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. The Foundation is already doing some incredible work to help improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neurone Disease, and we’re looking forward to see how we can support this over the next year.”

Balfour+Manson recently appointed Stephanie Zak to the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Partner. Stephanie’s will be responsible for developing the firm’s CSR programme, which will include the promotion of opportunities to raise funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and environmental initiatives.

Stephanie said: “As part of my role, I have formed a CSR committee with staff across the firm. One major part of our role will be exploring different ways to raise funds for this incredibly worthwhile cause. We can’t wait to get started!”

Jill Douglas, CEO of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, said: “We are delighted to establish this relationship with the team at Balfour+Manson, and look forward to working with them in the coming months. This is more than a fundraising opportunity for us, it is about raising awareness around Motor Neurone Disease, building partnerships and we hope also having some fun together!”
