Balfour+Manson raise over £2000 for Doddie Foundation

Unable to host their usual charitable events due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, staff opted for virtual fundraising activities. From virtual quizzes and scavenger hunts, to a Christmas distance challenge, staff from across both offices (Edinburgh & Aberdeen) got involved to raise money for this incredible cause.

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neuron Disease and was founded by Doddie Weir, one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities. Doddie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2017.

Elaine Motion, Chairman of Balfour+Manson commented: “I am incredibly proud of the amount we have managed to raise over the last year, despite the obvious obstacles! 2020 was an incredibly tough year for all charities so I am delighted that Balfour+Manson was able to give something back to our chosen charity of the year, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. The Foundation does some incredible work and has recently hit some brilliant fundraising milestones.”

Jill Douglas, CEO of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation thanked B+M staff: “A huge thanks to the team at Balfour+Manson for their wonderful fundraising on behalf of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. We are delighted that you chose us as your charity of the year last year – who could have known what a year it would be!? But thanks to your imagination and innovation, you have been able to come up with new ways to support our work. We continue to invest in MND research, to investigate potential cures and support people living with motor neuron disease. We will soon publish our strategy document for the next ten years and all of this would not be possible without the input and support of individuals and businesses such as the team at Balfour+Manson. Thank You.”

Staff at Balfour+Manson are now preparing to select their next charity of the year, a process that is decided by a staff vote.
